With the season of giving right around the corner, there are a ton of different ways you can get involved and start showing people you care. In addition to spending time with your family, however, there are a few other items worth giving thanks for — and your car is one of them! While loving your car is normal, giving thanks by performing maintenance is another way to show your appreciation for it getting you from point a to point b. Here are a few ways to give thanks to your vehicles this season.
Fluid Changes
It’s one thing to fill your car up with wiper fluid for the winter, but there are a ton of other fluids that also keep your car running in tip-top shape as well! Things like brake fluid, coolant and oil are great items to begin with when it comes to winter prep — especially because of how cheap it can be! While they might not seem like big changes, they can result in big improvements in vehicle operation.
Tire Rotation
After a while, it’s apparent that some of your tires might be wearing a bit differently than other sets. Due to this, it’s very important to have them rotated as time goes on to ensure that they’re wearing evenly, and you’re safe. This can easily be done in your driveway or at a shop within minutes — and the payoff is huge!
Fog Reduction
An easy way to reduce fog inside of your car is to grab some kitty litter and an old, unused sock. Toss a cup of litter inside the sock and tie the end off so none of it can escape. From there, leave it on the dash or in your cupholder and allow it to absorb the moisture from inside. This makes driving easy as well as preparation in the morning before you head to work.
Of course, if there’s another pressing issue looming in the distance, it’s a good idea to have it handled before it becomes a larger issue. With winters becoming increasingly stronger each year, the last thing you need is to be stranded with an inoperable vehicle.
